basically I got a fresh SSD, a Samsung 980 Pro heatsink, and wanted to connect it into my M2_2 port. I forced a reboot, took out the GPU, inserted it, put the GPU back in, and after the PC started, formatted the drive. Now whenever I launch a game—even if it's on low power—it causes the GPU temperature to spike from 50°C to 83°C and the fans spin loudly. Yesterday it didn’t happen at all. I’ve tried many fixes: uninstalled the forced update, reinstalled drivers, removed Afterburner. I also checked out the SSD, but nothing changed. My specs are: B550 MORTAR, Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB RAM, MSI 1660TI. Here are some screenshots showing the GPU throttling and temperatures.

It appears standard performance, with full GPU utilization being typical.

It's possible the fans and heatsink were not properly aligned during installation. Verify their position before proceeding.

It used to run without that issue. Now it fully relies on the GPU, and my computer makes a loud noise—almost like a jet engine. Earlier in the same game, it was quiet with decent performance, about 80% GPU usage. I’m more worried about the sound than speed, and it reaches around 85°C right away.

Modify your fan curve or try another GPU. I haven’t been able to discuss yesterday’s event, but the situation you described today seems typical.

It seems you've likely deleted your old fan curve during an update or uninstallation. You can recover it in Afterburner or use Fancontrol to rebuild it.

I have never used a fan curve before, tried one now and it doesnt really help, temp still goes from 48°C to 83°C in an INSTANT and my PC becomes a jet engine, theres no hot air coming out of the back its rather cool, and it never did it before, my pc was always at an acceptable noise at 80°C. And its always i tab out from the game, it goes to 40 temps, i go back in it, 80 instantly with loud fans. Its really weird and i dont really think this is normal? since it never did it before especially on non demanding games like divinity original sin 2 or dorfromantik.

If users are handling things properly, DDU and reinstalling NVidia drivers might resolve the issue
