GPU hits full capacity within moments, leading to repeated lag in the game.
This has been occurring over time, affecting various games. My GPU frequently jumps from 60-80% to 100% after a short delay. It's becoming increasingly bothersome and has been happening for a few months now. Do you know any solutions?
GPU activity alone rarely leads to noticeable lag spikes. Aim for the GPU operating near full capacity whenever possible. Which hardware are you using? Which titles are triggering this issue? What resolution and frame rate are involved? How does your CPU performance appear during those games? (Unless driver updates and reinstallation resolve the problem)
Based on my observations, it's essentially the same as CPU performance. A 100% rating usually means the game is demanding too much, causing lag or freezing. It's a better bottleneck than CPU since tweaking settings can prevent hitting that 100% threshold. With CPU, reaching 100% often indicates the engine is overloaded and won't improve much without deeper changes like mods or hardware upgrades.
Your specs and the games you're playing matter a lot. DDU could help, but it might not if your system lacks sufficient power. Generally, aiming close to 100% is problematic, except possibly for some highly optimized titles—just a joke!
What are your current specs and which games are you running?
The newest driver on your Nvidia card seems to be causing issues. It might be worth checking the compatibility or updating further.
