It’s tricky to confirm if the 7800XT should act like that since those sensors aren’t always reliable. A large delta package or hotspot usually means the cooler isn’t making full contact with the GPU die. I’m not sure this applies to a 7800XT, it seems too early for thermal paste or pads to need replacement. Did you check your temperatures during gaming? That would give a better idea of actual usage. I kept an eye on things while playing, it was near the bottom of my post. Sorry, maybe I wasn’t precise enough—about a 15-degree difference from the normal 60°C, so the hotspot at 75°C was just perfect. Oddly, during the Aida64 stress test, the sensor reading 95°C came from the VCD3 hotspot, while everything else stayed within a normal range. I’m not really worried about it now; I was more curious. Back when I had the lowest specs, entering the PC gaming scene (the 7800xt is mid-high end) was a big leap. I’m just trying to understand better so I can apply it in future situations. Thanks!
