I've noticed the fans on my Aorus RTX 3070 Master acting strangely. When I force them to run at maximum in afterburner or through Aorus software, they hit around 2900 RPM. But lately, they keep spinning up to about 4200 RPM at unpredictable moments. Even when the GPU is running hot—say 78°C at 75% fan speed—it suddenly jumps to a much higher speed for a few seconds before dropping back down. It seems unrelated to power or temperature spikes. Have others experienced this? Any ideas on fixing it?
Adjust driver configurations, remove afterburner and Aorus. 100% fans are fine, just relax and calm down. This issue might be linked to the software installed on your drivers. Make sure GPU fans activate at full speed when it's 60°C to avoid problems and crashes.
I've tested multiple monitors to look for any kind of "hotspot" data, but all of them display just one temperature reading—just the GPU core, which rarely exceeds 80º. It might be worth disassembling the unit to verify if the paste and pads on memory or power delivery are functioning correctly. Your thought is good; it could be a worthwhile attempt.
