I installed my PC on January 1st, 2020. But lately, I've faced difficulties running games smoothly because of some issues. I began playing more demanding titles and have experienced significant lag, which I demonstrated in a video. Link: GPU usage fluctuating. YouTube The issue lies with newer games (2015-2019) such as Forza Horizon 4—frame rates drop to around 100ms or more, followed by FPS drops and unstable GPU performance. This behavior isn't seen in older titles like Ac Black Flag. In contrast, recent releases like AC Origins, Mountblade 2, Bannerlord, etc., cause excessive lag making the experience unplayable on my system. My PC barely meets the minimum requirements to run these games. I've tested with CPU diagnostics, RAM tests, and even updated drivers after deleting and reinstalling them. No improvement has been noticed.

It seems you're checking the hard drive model, its age, and looking into the CPU and temperatures. Let's clarify those details.

Thanks for the reply. I believe it's an HDD based on the crystal disk data indicating a faulty disk, though the issue occurred even when the disk was functioning properly and temperatures were normal.

It’s likely the hard drive is failing. Removing all components and replacing the drive would resolve the issue. In games like Forza, performance drops when the HDD struggles to access new data for rendering.

It's fine if you can purchase another HDD for a while; you don't necessarily have to upgrade to an SSD right away.

It varies. I rely on an SSD for most of my games, but a slightly slower load time is acceptable. I suggest the 2 TB Seagate Baracude I found on Amazon for £40.
