This game is a mess—what a terrible choice (thank AMD Rewards for the free GPU). I should have looked it up beforehand. Right when I began, Steam warned about compatibility problems with Windows Live games. Almost immediately, updates and installers kept popping up. After entering my Xbox Live details and product key, the system asked to restart. I restarted, pressed alt+enter for fullscreen (thanks to a helpful forum post), and suddenly everything worked perfectly. My GPU fan spiked to maximum. Given that it was an older R9 270x running a fairly old title, this was surprising. I also noticed the keyboard and mouse weren’t ideal for racing games. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I’ve removed the game completely. If you’re considering it for rewards, skip it. Better pick something like Sniper Elite 3 or Thief. On the plus side, I got Alan Wake—definitely worth checking out. Sorry for the rant; I’m just upset I didn’t do my homework and might have wasted someone’s time. Don’t be upset if you don’t like it either—opinions vary.

I previously bought Alan Wake in a Humble Bundle and haven’t played it, but I’m willing to try it out.

Dirt 3 is genuinely an enjoyable racing experience and works well on most budget systems. Poor performance doesn’t necessarily mean the game is flawed. I’ve also never faced problems with Windows Live games, and I actually liked them because I could chat with friends who still play Xbox while playing a game that needed it.

Yes, Games for Windows Live has its flaws. A 270X isn't the best option either. A game meant for toddlers using full GPU power is normal. Dirt 3 has always been tough on hardware. Even in 2014 reviews it was tested to check performance. And definitely, a mouse and keyboard aren't ideal for racing titles—so they opt for racing wheels or a 360 controller instead.

You're frustrated because the game has strict disclaimers, needs updates to work, and forces a restart for changes. It seems you're just starting out and didn't realize keyboard/mouse control could be tricky. Instead of setting up a complex fan profile, it looks like you're upset about your lack of experience. Try a game that doesn’t need an account, updates, or PC setup—something simple to get started.

I guess I mentioned not to fire me for not enjoying your favorite title... I’m pretty sure that’s what you meant. To be clear, the game was running poorly when I first opened it—windowed, 400p, medium settings. My machine handled it fine after a bit of testing.

I guess I'm frustrated I chose this game. It's like getting a free one—really intense! But honestly, I didn't lose anything in the end. Plus, I'm just starting out with PC games; I built my first setup only yesterday.

I won't engage in any heated exchanges. Your comments lacked substance, and if you continue sharing such content due to lack of understanding, you might face consequences.

I was just sharing my thoughts about my experience with the game, which wasn’t great. Some might say it was due to my lack of experience all day, but ultimately the product didn’t impress me and I ended up uninstalling it. Luckily, I didn’t lose any money on this. I assumed this section was meant for PC gaming, but a streamlined, easy-to-use product like that is exactly what PC gamers look for—something simple and not too complicated. I’m at least familiar with Hearthstone and Skyrim; they work well. This stuff... didn’t work.

You can't force others to ignore your views or share their thoughts. He didn’t even get angry with you. Saying a game isn’t bad because it’s not working on their setup isn’t being confrontational.
