Hello everyone, After 5 years, I've finally decided to delid my 6700k. I've been pondering about it for quite a while. I've got one of those so called "golden samples", and I was able to run 4.7ghz at 1.36v all day, every day (and I did, for 5 years). For 4.8 though, I needed quite a bit more voltage - 1.40v to be exact, and I couldn't cool that even with my 4 fan push pull Neptun 240mm AIO. After delid (normal tim repaste, no LM), my baseline dropped from 95°C in Cinebench R23 to 75°C, so I figured I'd push it some more. Final result - 4.9ghz at 1.44v. And there's no hope for 5.0, because I've got 1 core that really doesn't like 4.9 already and another that's just about content. The other two cores though are very happy still, only reaching 75°C at 4.9ghz. I think they'd be able to run at 5.0, maybe even 5.1. I might do some per-core OC-ing in the future. Was able to complete a single core Cinebench R23 run at 5.0ghz, got 1330pts. Multicore at 4.9ghz was 6600pts. CPU pulled around 110W. Keep in mind this is all running on a 5yo Windows install, I reckon there's 5% or so lost just because of that. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be able to push this chip so far. It's 1st gen skylake after all.. And I've got one of the earlier batches. If I'm able to get it running any faster, I'll post an update. I've only seen people running 5.0 with chilled water and insane voltage, and I don't think I'll be able to get all 4 cores running that fast... but 2? Probably. Let me know what y'all were able to achieve with these chips, they're still quite punchy imo..
