Got a Spilt Pepsi right next to my computer.
Hey everyone, I feel really stupid after knocking over a glass of Pepsi right next to my laptop. Luckily, it was on a cooling pad so nothing got wet; actually, the only thing left behind was a tiny bit of splash that looked about the size of my fingernail near the air vent. I wiped it up immediately and let it sit alone for 24 hours now. You can't smell anything, you can't see much but I'm worried about what kind of damage this could cause. I do have accidental damage protection on the laptop, though there is no fault with the device itself, so ASUS probably won't cover a claim under their plan, and it seems weird to send off a working laptop when all tests pass. I could always just file a claim later if things break down in the future. Should I pay someone local to check it out? I'm not very good at tech stuff and don't really know what the risks are or how to handle them. Any advice would be super helpful, thanks!
It is very unlikely that splashing made any real difference at all.
Actually, that spill only scratched up one spot on the laptop because my extra fan took care of it! My fingers were tiny so they didn't touch the screen much, and I just cleaned it right away. Thanks for helping me out, I won't stress anymore.
