I just added a new graphics card (Gigabyte RTX 4060 LP) to replace my old Intel 630 on my HP TE01-1020 running Windows 22H2 ver. 22621.2861, and I connected the monitor's HDMI cable to a new USB port instead of its original one on the PC. The speakers are not working at all while the screen works fine. If you go to Control Panel and check Hardware & Sound, you can see that sound comes through the monitor but there is no icon for the speakers showing up on my side with an arrow pointing down, even though the speaker settings say they are disabled. I thought the monitor was on because of a green checkmark next to it, but I don't know how to make the speakers work.

Do you have speakers plugged into the motherboard? turning off HDMI sound in the Nvidia settings should help. most of these problems happened 6 or 8 years ago at this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Deskt...pe...-p/6886973 and here is a similar issue: https://forums. have you tried updating your drivers from this link? https://support.hp.com/au-en/help/hp-support-assistant

Got it! Even though I installed the right drivers and connected everything properly, I still failed because I didn't know how to find this path: Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Manage audio devices>Playback. In Playback, it looked like my monitor was set as the default sound output. I changed the default to RealTek speakers...and now everything works! Only video comes from the monitor and stereo sound comes from the speakers.
