Got a laptop motherboard problem?
So, I recently bought one of my old friends' laptops that they kept after a long time, and now I'm trying to fix it again. First, I sent the laptop to a repair shop where they replaced or fixed the CPU. But when I try to turn it on, it stays up for five to ten seconds before shutting down completely on its own. Even though I've unplugged everything and taken out all removable parts, this problem is still there. Anyone else have an idea what could be causing this? This laptop is an Asus FX80G.
You need a working cooling system on your laptop before trying anything else. Take out the battery and the RAM, keep holding the power button for about 30 seconds to let it shut down completely, and then test it again with just one stick of RAM installed.
