Got a Blue Screen of Death while trying to start up Windows 11? Here are some tips to fix it.
You had all these parts ready to go, but now you have lots of broken pieces that don't fit together well.
Besides the motherboard, what about the CPU, the power supply, the RAM, and the hard drives? How old is this thing and does it still have a warranty, or did the package just arrive already broken? Did it work fine for a long time before suddenly breaking down, or has it never worked at all?
This PC has had a long life for me. Sending it back to them would mean waiting two or four weeks, which I didn't want at the time. It worked okay at first, but then it started freezing and making blue screen errors. I thought maybe the graphics card caused it, so I swapped that out and things seemed normal again for about a week. But I think that was just luck.
I added some more RAM and an SSD to keep the PC running instead of sending it back. I also got a new graphics card thinking I could figure this out without needing the motherboard. However, I messed up several SSDs because the blue screens kept happening during Windows updates. Now, even with old RAM, Ubuntu freezes while trying to run. But the new RAM sticks cause different errors that are hard to understand.
I was hoping to find someone who can help me figure out what's broken, but I think there might be more than one problem here. My old memory is Vengeance DDR5 5600MT/s and my new ones are 6000MT/s. My graphics card used to be an Nvidia 3070, and now it's a weaker Nvidia 3050. I know the new GPU isn't as good but just wanted to see if that was causing things. There is also a Corsair power supply RM750e involved.
It already isn't working well enough for a few years, right? Stop fixing the same problem. Send it back. Make sure it works correctly the first time. There is no reason YOU need to deal with this on a system still under warranty unless YOU caused something that broke it. If you didn't do anything wrong, just stop arguing and send it back. Let them fix whatever issue they find there. Backup your important files right now because maybe nothing else will work for two weeks. Use another computer or phone if needed. There is no reason for you to worry about hardware problems or software errors made by the support team. If it's actually YOU, or something YOU did, then we can probably skip this part and move on. But honestly, if they fix it right now, it would be stupid to leave them alone with the problem.
