My new computer has shown unusual behavior, and I’m trying to figure out what’s causing it. When powering it on, the system freezes before it boots up. How often does this happen? About once every 50 starts (rough estimate). The display shows a solid black screen, followed by a steady “-” symbol. It doesn’t flicker, just a consistent line. I’ve looked it up online before—this pattern is known to appear on black screens without flickering. However, this isn’t my case because the “-” stays steady. The fix tried was a simple power cycle by unplugging the device, but that didn’t resolve the problem. I need advice on further troubleshooting or possible hardware issues. Please share my computer’s specifications if you can.

Last month I faced the same issue with my PC involving ReBAR. I’m unsure why, but this problem coincided with four storage drives disappearing and the BIOS screen appearing when I booted. It seems connected to my PC, as there are no similar videos elsewhere (likely an isolated case). Check if the issue lies with the motherboard’s BIOS or my storage drives.

Based on what you're observing, there are various potential issues at play. The BIOS might be attempting to boot from a disk lacking an operating system, a connected USB device, or the disk itself could be faulty. Another concern is that the MBR or EFI boot loader is damaged. The boot mode settings might also be incorrect. Problems with the SSD or RAM connection could contribute too. Alternatively, a corrupted operating system might be responsible for your PC's difficulties. I wish you success in identifying the cause.
