Good RAM options for the Ryzen 7 3700X include DDR4 3200MHz or higher modules.
I'm working on upgrading my setup with an Asus ROG X570 and a Ryzen 7 3700X. I ordered 16 GB of G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16-18-18-38 Dual Kit. I'm trying to figure out if this RAM is suitable for my processor or if I should return it and get something else. Since I'm not very familiar with RAM timing, I just want to see the Trident Z Neo design. Would it work well with my current setup, or should I look for a different option? Any advice would be appreciated!
its decent, but I would try and get 3600mhz ram. ryzen favors faster ram
the 3600 cl16 kit works well for zen 2, similar to a b die kit such as 3200 cl14 or a 3600 cl16-16-16. it depends on whether you prefer the strix f or e model—what board are you using? also, it might be wise to wait until zen 3 is available and see what new features it brings.
this g skill 3600 cl16 kit looks affordable and plentiful. I’d check it out here: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-...ption=3600 cl16&cm_re=3600_cl16-_-20-232-880-_-Product&quicklink=true
