Hi guys I recently bought a MacBook Pro 15inch base model a few months ago since I finally got a job and I'm a junior web designer for a small company. Really enjoying it so far, anyways..... I am loving my MacBook, it's really good and blasts through everything but I have been looking at maybe duel booting windows 8.1 as well? It has a 250GB SSD, soo my question is... Is it a good or bad idea to duel boot on a Mac with not a lot of storage? plus if people say yea it would be fine, where could i go to get my Mac to duel boot?? any help would be awesome P.S I am planning on building a gaming pc sometime this year after my holiday to Florida!!

For 250GB, I wouldn't recommend it myself. But if you try, use the search bar, type "Bootcamp" and follow the Mac instructions that appear.

250 could be too low. Try using bootcamp for dual boot with Windows.

For someone who lives a tough life, 512GB MX100 SSDs are now quite affordable.

There’s likely minimal storage on your MacBook, so handling it carefully is important. You should avoid any risks of damage.

Not likely. It is an app made by apple for the purpose of installing windows on your mac.

if you're open to carrying a HDD with you sometimes then I don't see why not.

Are there any issues? It seems you haven't set up Windows yet. Perhaps just ensure after the reboot you don't return to the disk and start the installation again. Bootcamp creates a partition for your drives, and you need to hold Alt when your Mac begins choosing the OS. I don't see a clear risk unless during the Windows setup you accidentally overwrote your Mac OSX, which would be quite challenging if you're careful and have a clear mind.

If that occurs, bring it to an Apple Store to reinstall OS X. I’d check if you can get a Genius install for Windows there.

If you want a new ssd, this is a cheap 1tb one that performs pretty well.
