they should create a distinct RAM slot for VRAM in integrated graphics, similar to how you install a compact 16GB RAM stick with 16GB of VRAM for Intel HD graphics. This would work well on mini ITX boards lacking a PCI slot.

They possess this type of standard RAM slots. Your integrated graphics utilize a segment of your system memory, so to increase storage for it, you can typically assign more in the BIOS settings.

However, there are constraints. You can't simply add 32GB of RAM and set half for VRAM. Most integrated systems cap at around 1GB. A size of 512MB is typical, particularly in laptops.

It's understandable to think gaming and content creation aren't the intended use for iGPUs. They were designed for smooth 4K video playback, seamless video calls, and basic tasks like viewing Word documents. Even many programmers don't require a dedicated GPU since compilation can handle it otherwise. Intel HD has improved significantly, and with XE graphics, more systems might allocate more memory for these purposes.
