Hi everyone, I just put together a new PC and inside it is a GTX 970 (Zotac). I've overclocked the core clock to 204MHz and the memory clock to 99MHz, and I think I got decent results. This is my first overclock, so I'm not sure if they're really good compared to others.

On Unigine Valley, I got a score of 2705 with an average of 64.7 FPS, ranging from 26.0 to 128.4 in Extreme HD. In 3DMark, the value was 36533.

I'd like to see how these compare to other GTX 970 models and whether they're decent or good. Thanks!

That's a good score for a GTX 970.
(by the way the 204mhz is +204mhz on whatever the base clock is, not 204mhz)
Usually good GTX 970's get up to around 1400mhz to 1500mhz core clock on good cards
😉
So the GTX 970 is a great overclocking card.
-happy overclocking.

I successfully obtained
MSI 970
Power Limit 100%/Untouched
+225 Core = 1680MHz
+575 Memory = 4080MHz
Temperature never exceeds 64C
Yet for some reason, everyone else I've seen has been pleased they achieved above 1.5GHz, which leaves me a bit puzzled about that one...

I was able to acquire
MSI 970
Power Limit 100%/Untouched
+225 Core = 1680MHz
+575 Memory = 4080MHz
Temperature stays below 64C
Yet for some reason, everyone else I've met seems content with values over 1.5GHz, which is puzzling...
Have you adjusted the core voltage? I think most people usually target around 1500mhz without changing the voltage.
1680mhz works well if you're using stock voltages
😉

Anonymouselite5 shared their experience with MSI 970. They reported a power limit of 100%/Untouched, a core temperature of 1680MHz, and memory speed of 4080MHz. They noted that temperatures never exceed 64°C. They questioned why others managed to exceed 1.5GHz while they stayed below it. The user asked about Core voltage adjustments, mentioning typical 1500mhz settings without voltage changes. They provided links to Afterburner and Heaven graphic settings for reference. They expressed gratitude for their stable performance compared to others.
