Hello everyone, today my PC started up and my password was altered without my awareness. To access my account, I need to use the Microsoft Live password. I attempted to modify it, assuming it was my Windows 10 login info, but I’m confused about changing Windows passwords now. Do you know when Steam OS is released? Also, my Windows didn’t activate properly.

Begin at the start, select your account, then right-click and choose account settings. You should find an option to switch to a local account there.

The changes Windows made were independent of my experience with the solution.

steamOS is out, but not finished but you can still use it and hopefully it will automatically update itself

It seems the issue arose unexpectedly. Usually it just reminds you that Cortana needs a Microsoft Live account. Make sure you didn’t accidentally enable the App Store or something similar. Many Windows 10 functions require a Microsoft Live account instead of a local one.

I was using my usual password, but it prompted a restart for updates. I decided to turn you off and handle the updates tomorrow. Today, I entered my password, only to realize it was incorrect. After some research online, I learned the wrong way to change it, and I felt uncertain about my actions.
