This remake of GoldenEye: Source 5.0 brings the classic first-person shooter experience to PC players. It's a free mod that closely replicates the original game and its multiplayer features. I've already tried a few sessions and found it enjoyable. Compared to the N64 setup, it feels much smoother. The graphics have improved noticeably, with better lighting and textures, though they still maintain a simple 64-bit look. The absence of a crosshair adds an extra layer of challenge and makes combat more engaging. While aiming is possible via the shift key, movement remains slow while the crosshair is active. A downloadable server is available for enhanced multiplayer sessions.
It really impressed me. I tried it earlier, it was enjoyable. I’d love to play it more if others join in.
A significant number of players were active on the servers; however, interacting with familiar faces brings more enjoyment. I regret missing the close-knit group around a 20-inch CRT monitor, but I’m now seeking a calmer FPS for casual play and think I’ve discovered one. To save time, install the Source SDK from Steam while the GoldenEye setup completes.

I think that's a good idea. As long as everyone uses the same server, it should function properly without needing Steam IDs. I'm staying in until later this evening, but if anyone is free around 7 or 8 PM EST then we can join!
