Glasswire plus Kaspersky Internet Security together.
Glasswire plus Kaspersky Internet Security together.
Hello, experts. I bought a one-year Kaspersky Internet Security because I'm a loyal Kaspersky supporter, but I ended up getting two instead. Now I’m stuck with two years of protection. I’m not happy about the firewall feature, though I see Glasswire screenshots are promising. Could running both Kaspersky IS and Glasswire at the same time cause any problems?
I don’t assume they’ll run smoothly together. Kaspersky offers a fairly adjustable antivirus experience. That being said, don’t overestimate GlassWire’s capabilities. I relied on the free edition until around 1.2 when they pushed for an upgrade to 2.0, which essentially locked the free version in place. It mainly provides visual alerts and lacks deeper functionality. There’s no smart detection or app recognition—it just lists what it sees. The features are essentially a rebranded version of BullGuard 2012’s firewall wrapped in a polished interface. Paying $40 for a “lifetime” license feels reasonable for such a basic, feature-rich firewall, but the term “lifetime” is vague. Based on past behavior, it probably won’t be updated until they release a new version, at which point you’ll be prompted to buy another paid tool. Their trial download info is unclear on their site—mostly just a free installer. Digging deeper reveals it’s simply a standard application that only activates when you run it for the first time, prompting frequent updates. Regarding network monitoring, scanning an entire network from your desktop is inefficient and can strain resources or miss critical areas. Calling it privacy and security features isn’t very convincing; it’s more about constant checking and alerts. Honestly, it would need a skilled developer to deliver meaningful protection, rather than just a generic monitoring tool.
