I resolved my game/Windows random crashes using this board and the 9800x3d. If anyone struggles to play due to crashes, set the vcore to 1.17 and CPU clock to 52. Gigabyte must improve their 9800x3d CPU. Concerning the 08 error in Windows, any error message shown in Windows is just a bug that Gigabyte hasn't addressed—it began with the x670 chipset, making it risky to use a Gigabyte board.

I have similar issue with the Gigabyte x870e aorus pro ice which whenever it was running it displayed 08 in the debug, but it was running fine... Right until an hour ago... Now it will hang in 15 and end up at 64, and never boot... I have tried cmos, firmware refresh to F2, tried F3a, will skip F3h as I experienced earlier that it wouldn't boot with that one. I should get some verified ram in a couple of days... I uninstalled the audio drivers as I didn't have the option to turn on 5.1 surround sound and it went brick after that... Update: After I spend a lot of time writing that message on the phone and tried to turn on the computer again while recording it and to my surprised, it came up with a: Clear Cmos Information BIOS has been reset. Please re-config your BIOS setup items if needed. At this point I am afraid to reboot the computer again... Edited December 17, 2024 by DxBang Now it works, soon it will not.. maybe.. do I dare to reboot?

After restarting, it didn’t boot properly again without a visible CMOS issue. Even though I purchased genuine RAM, the problem persists. I should have stayed hopeful with ASUS.

Gigabyte resolved the 08 code using the most recent BIOS update. You can now configure it to display system temperatures beyond the 15 code, and avoid getting stuck in codes like 41 or 64, which I’ve noticed are linked to memory problems. I also experience the same issue when setting RAM above 5000 with four sticks.
