Gigabyte X570 Gaming X Fan Headers are a type of high-performance cooling solution.
I’m thinking about purchasing the Gaming X mobo because it matches my needs and fits within a reasonable budget. However, the reviews tend to mention that the board only has two fan headers, which is a concern. The manual from Gigabyte lists four headers, but seems to be misleading. I’d appreciate any insights from others who’ve used this board.
There are four fan headers available, yet only two are designated for case fans. The remaining two include a CPU cooler fan and a water cooling CPU fan header. You think the main distinction between the water cooling option and the standard CPU fan is that the latter should operate at full speed continuously, whereas the water cooling version is intended to run at maximum capacity all the time.
It's the identical physical connector, which is why you didn't think it could be fixed.
All four connectors work with standard fans, though CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT are intended for CPU cooler fans. You can use system fans on either header without any issues. Just ensure at least one is connected to CPU_FAN, as the BIOS will prompt otherwise.
