Gigabyte Master Z390 M.2 standoffs
Gigabyte Master Z390 M.2 standoffs
I'm really frustrated with my motherboard. The RMA came without the M.2 standoffs for my drives, and they’re shorter than needed. I’m not sure how to install them or where to buy the correct ones. I also used plyers, but they seem to have some kind of locking mechanism.
The standoff in the 2880 hole is the spacer shown there. They’re not missing, and you can’t just take them out. Locktite used to be a different kind of adhesive but has been the standard for years. If you decide to replace them, you can easily find more online. There are many options available.
When you inspect them closely, you'll notice threads inside. This means you can remove them and rearrange them to fit your desired position. It's unclear if they turn clockwise or counterclockwise.
For anyone with the same issue, these wont working in a z390 master, the thread size is too small... I wasted some money on them. This is what you need
That’s frustrating. The sizing for M.2 slots seems unusual. It would be better if the Stand came with standard dimensions instead of being a special case. Atx does a great job with standards overall. There are just two types of case screws available, despite hundreds of variations. I think the best option is to send them back and ask about the correct sizes they use. Measuring these holes blindly is really inconvenient.
