Hello there! I upgraded my motherboard from the G31 to the GA-G41M-S2P. I have an AM3+ and LGA1155 motherboard, but I really prefer my LGA771. The HDMI connection on my HD7950 is still having issues that I haven’t fixed yet. (I’m planning to buy a DP adapter if it doesn’t get resolved.) If I boot just from the HD7950, everything works perfectly – it starts in under 10 seconds and launches Windows smoothly. It runs Far Cry Primal at high settings and other demanding games with stable 60fps. Booting onboard is also fast and behaves like a regular X4500. However, when I try to switch between onboard and offboard graphics, the system starts but then freezes for a few minutes during logon. Once the screen refreshes, everything works fine again.

My current setup includes a GA-G41M-S2P with BIOS modded to LGA771. It uses an Xeon E5440 at stock speed, 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM at 1333MHz, an HD7950 3GB at stock speed, a Biwin 120GB SATA SSD, a 1TB HDD, and a 420W C3Tech PSU. Windows 10 was just installed after changing the motherboard, and all drivers are working properly. The logon screen is smooth before and after changes.

Before the BIOS upgrade, I had a Core2 Duo E7300 running. That happened before the BIOS change, so it should be fine now. The RAM hasn’t changed since the purchase, so that’s not the issue. I tried using the stock speed for RAM, but nothing changed. In my previous setup with the E7300 and E5440, everything worked perfectly. I’m currently experimenting with a rebalancing to the G41 chip, adjusting graphics settings in BIOS, and testing with different GPUs (GTX570 and GT430). Any tips or adjustments would be greatly appreciated!
