Motherboard displayport compatibility varies with BIOS releases. It functions properly with F1 and F2 but not with F3, F4 or F5a. All BIOS versions support Mobo's HDMI ports. I've tested with several monitors and cables, yet I still can't capture images through displayport when the BIOS isn't F1 or F2. I have a setup with three monitors: one on my GPU RX6900XT via displayport and two on the motherboard ports—one HDMI, one displayport. This arrangement helps prevent issues that arise when all monitors connect to the GPU. My motherboard model is B650 AORUS ELITE AX (1.x) with BIOS versions F3, F4, F5a. GPU is ASUS RX6900 XT, CPU 7800x3d, OS Windows 11/22H2. RAM includes G.Skill F5-6400J329G16GX2-RS5K with 2x16GB.
This appears to be an issue Gigabyte needs to resolve. It seems we can't proceed if it relies on different BIOS versions.
Just checking on your setup. I have two systems running B650 AORUS ELITE AX Ryzen 7 7700X with Windows 11 Home and no GPU yet. The OS loads via DisplayPort, but once drivers are installed, DP stops working. HDMI is the only alternative. DP displays the initial Windows loading screen, then becomes blank. I've tried using dual monitors, but it doesn't help. Windows recognizes it but can't extend to it.
You're welcome! I'm sure you meant to ask about the BIOS version. It looks like Gigabyte has updated their offerings, removing older versions and now offering BIOS F4.
They launched the updated bios version F5b, but Displayport remains unresolved.
