You're starting your PC build for the first time. You've updated the BIOS on your B550M using three different flash drives (3.0 32GB, 2.0 16GB, GIGABYTE.bin). You've tested both FAT32 formats with various pin configurations and even removed the button battery for a reset. Despite these efforts, you haven't seen any progress—no amber LED indicating success. Could someone help you troubleshoot?

I recently encountered a problem with a Gigabyte A320 board. By checking the BIOS notes on the download page, you might discover you need to upgrade to a specific version before the latest release. I had to upgrade to version 23 first, which prevented me from jumping directly from an older version to the newest one.

The ds3h page lists just one bio for the gigabyte site.

Which revision do you own? 1.4 or versions like 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3? Updating the BIOS on a 1.4 board makes sense because it came with the latest version already. If you have another revision, an update is justified. But for 1.4 it's unnecessary since the current one is available.

This might be the problem I'm facing—I'm using version 1.3 and I probably missed downloading the 1.4 BIOS.

No, it's better to consider your goals before choosing a starting point.

Review the release notes for confirmation. If problems arise, consider using F14 as it is a substantial update.

I began with F14 and it appears to be functioning properly. Appreciate you noticing my mistake. I might have missed something important.
