Aorus cost is around $109 and Gaming Plus Max ~$93. Total budget is roughly $483. Current gear includes Gigabyte Windforce GTX760 (no upgrade planned due to limited funds), Chieftec BPS-650C 650W. Planned components: Ryzen 5 3600x OEM ~$248, Patriot Viper 4 Steel (2x8GB, 3600MHz, 17-19-19-39) ~$98, Deepcool Gammaxx 400 BL ~$16.50. Arctic Cooling MX-4 paste ~$10. If you have a MSI MMO, better CPU cooler option might be available. Also consider adding another fan if performance isn't satisfactory. Currency: Russian Ruble. Thanks for your help! The Gaming Plus Max stands out as a superior choice. If it offers better value, it's obvious. Just remember to grab the Ryzen 5 3600 instead of the 3600X—you're essentially paying for a typo.

most coolers come with paste already applied, which is sufficient—no extra cost needed. the x470 gaming plus max performs much better. i’d also look into a b550 board, such as a pro4 or pro-vdh. as mentioned in the post, buy only the 3600 if it matches the price of the 3600. the main change is the improved stock cooler, which you’re clearly planning to upgrade anyway.

I can afford micro-ATX on the b550, though I'm a bit worried about the thermal performance. I won't be swapping it because it's an OEM model. Isn't X marginally better in terms of speed? The gap between 3600 and 3600x is around $6 to $8.

The micro ATX boards work well and don’t cause thermal problems as long as they’re good quality. They’re clearly superior to the B450 Aorus Elite. You mentioned you might consider swapping the cooler if the price gap is just $6.8—yes, go for the 3600, it offers a slight improvement over the 3600.

I'm sorry, but I won't purchase the box version. I'll go with OEM for the GammaX 400.
