I'm going crazy...my bios is displaying my dram frequency as 1860mhz instead of the required 2400mhz, and I can't locate an xmp profile option. Most memory editing settings are either hidden or I just click on them accidentally. I updated the bios to the latest version. Memory: Hyper X 2x8gb DDR4 2400mhz.

I used my friend's identical RAM sticks and the computer wouldn't boot at all—it loops even without entering BIOS. Should I take the motherboard back to the store you recommended? Yes, if you've tried different DIMMs, it’s likely a faulty slot or another component issue.

It shouldn't require an XMP profile. It should simply appear in the standard memory speed section, offering choices like 2133/2400/2666, etc., without needing to enable XMP for faster OC'ed DIMMS.
Double check with CPUz. Open it, examine the mem tab and speed tab. Capture both screenshots so we can review together.

Let's try setting the timings manually: 18-17-17-39-55. Do you have access to manual timings? Could you provide a screenshot of the BIOS showing the memory options? It might require selecting an option to 'ungrey' the timings section and entering them manually.

Have you verified that those memory modules are listed in the QVL (qualified vendor list)? This ensures compatibility. If not, it could cause issues.

In fact, I just confirmed they are on the QVL, so using them should work smoothly.
