I wonder if anyone can estimate how the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 with 2GB VRAM will handle Far Cry 4 at low settings (1920x1080) on a standard build. The card is the original release version, and you've installed it with an SSD. You're aiming for around 60 FPS, and you wish you could have a GTX 970 instead. Thanks for your help!

Consider aiming for around 30-40 FPS, though that's uncertain. The most reliable approach is to check benchmarks or download it first and test before purchasing.

Maybe it's better at 720p instead of 1080p.

Run it by gradually lowering the settings until it feels playable.

Can reach 40 quickly with high difficulty. Reference? I use my twin Frozr 3 570 with auto setting detection.

I owned a 650 and managed to achieve solid frame rates in FC3, I compared it with my new 980 and it really outperforms it. In low settings it drops to around 60fps, which feels decent but still functional. If you're keen on using the 650, consider overclocking—it gave me an average of 76 during a benchmark.

You can try it, but it seems a bit rough. It hinges on your view of what's acceptable for playability. I wouldn't say it works at 1080p with smooth performance (my take).

It seems to be around 45 frames per second, close to your target. Your HD 7770 with a 1GB card is handling 1080p at that speed most of the time.

Sure, I’ll rephrase it for you. Let’s imagine a world where the top graphics cards are affordable and the lowest ones are costly.
