Manual accepted. You have a Gigabit Aorus gaming 7 i7-7740X CPU, a dark rock tf2 CPU cooler, two DDR4 Trident RGB RAM sticks in slots 2 and 4 with slots 1 and 3 empty on the right side. When you power on the PSU, the MB LEDs flash and then turn off, resembling a Waring Sing setup. After pressing the power button, it boots and powers off briefly before turning the MB LEDs back on, displaying the last stable code C1—this isn’t listed in the manual.

C1 usually refers to an OEM cache/memory component. Place the small diagnostic speaker and pay attention to the sounds it makes.

So when I press the power button on the MB, it starts at C1 and then it beeps on and off.

Remove the memory and CMOS. Ensure the board errors appear correctly. Listen for beeps and verify the post code confirms proper operation of the board and CPU.

I removed the RAM and heard C1 and 5 beeps, which is another sign the puzzle is on the RAM box. I found the Amazon warehouse sticker, so I used it from Amazon a while back—probably too long ago, so it might not be possible to return it. I also have four sticks available at some point, but I’m not really keen on taking the RAM out to test this PC. Who knows, maybe the excitement will be worth it... Odd that there’s no standby LED...

I removed my dom plates 3000 and still have C1, so I’m not sure if I should waste time on another RAM. Maybe I should focus on getting my money back from eBay. Right now I don’t have the funds for a RAM listed at a high price, and I already have a mono block and an IO coming in. I also destroyed my X79 MB drive and am having trouble with PCs overall. Perhaps I’ll stick to my original plan: use this PC for gaming and my dad’s old MB for browsing. It seems the Z170 Mark 1 has one M.2 slot, so I can use one of the three WBs I own and hope the C14 RAM fits. Then I’ll need to buy a hot air gun and a heat sink removal tool so I can install heat spreaders and use one of the two RAM blocks. As for cores, it’s probably not worth it... I think I should add the Madgents to the strips and pick a case that suits my needs. I want to see it on my desk, but also have a server rack that needs space so cables can reach. I’m thinking about moving my off-line PC to an ANTEC laptop, but I’d rather do a GPU in front if I can build one. I don’t have enough projects to commit fully...
