It might not be sending a good signal to the modem. Open 192.168.100.1, check the status, and capture the screen showing all the statistics so we can examine your cable modem performance.

I didn't realize we had a WiFi extender, though I think it might not be the reason for the disconnections

It contains a router with a different IP address. Use 10.0.0.1 (default credentials are admin/password). Configure a steady ping to 10.0.0.1 and another with a ping to 8.8.8.8. Monitor the connection drops and verify which server is experiencing problems.

Sorry for the delay, I reset the modem and it seems to have resolved the issue. But it looks like the problem is returning. I’ll follow your instructions once the issue is confirmed.

You can set a fixed ping to those IPs using your router's settings—look for DHCP or static configuration options, or use a routing table rule to prioritize those addresses. Yes, most routers allow you to maintain consistent connectivity to those servers.

Send a ping to 8.8.8.8 and press the -t key until you stop it using CRT or something similar.

Your ping data also indicates IPv6 traffic, which might mean your provider is using 6to4 settings. This could be contributing to the problems you're experiencing. Try turning off IPv6 in Windows and observe any changes in performance.

The setup is straightforward because the device already includes a built-in switch. Just link one switch to another, and everything works fine. The role of each port remains unchanged regardless of which one you choose.

Could it be related to network congestion? I see faster drops when many users are online, like my two brothers and other family members streaming Netflix. Or maybe it’s just a random occurrence.

This connection is acting up—QoS routing could stabilize it.
