You’re asking why we restrict the connection instead of letting it handle faster uploads or downloads as needed. It’s simply because you’re already paying for the current speed, and adding another layer seems unnecessary. Just run at full capacity since that’s what you’re getting.
It really does appear odd given how straightforward it seems to change; they must be setting up the network to support Gigabit anyway. It looks like they’re adding unnecessary complexity without a clear purpose.
