Hi, I'm working on setting up Windows 10 on my newly built PC. The hardware details are listed in the BIOS, and I can install Windows onto my NVMe SSD. But when the system restarts to boot Windows, the drive isn't shown as a bootable option, and it keeps looping back to the installation screen. CSM is disabled, but the drive appears only when CSM is enabled. I've tried using a different 2.5" SSD that works and a Windows version on it, but those also didn't resolve the issue. Changing the NVMe port didn't help either. What should I do next?
I have a build using this board. I suggest trying another drive if possible in the M.2 slots; it seems like the defective one might be there. You probably don’t need to adjust any UEFI settings on this board. If you’ve set it up with default UEFI and performed a clean reinstall but it still doesn’t work, the issue could be the drive itself. I’d also recreate your installation media just in case, double-check everything, and consider installing Windows 11 instead. I’ve installed Windows 11 Pro from an ISO media and done a restore clone from a Windows 10 Pro machine on this motherboard with an R5 7600, which supports both versions. However, I haven’t reinstalled fresh from ISO Windows 10 on this board due to that.
