you're experiencing slower-than-expected wifi speeds despite having multiple devices connected. it's possible interference, distance, or network congestion could be affecting performance. check if other devices are using bandwidth and consider optimizing your setup.

It’s highly probable that achieving strong WiFi performance vertically is difficult. The antennas work best on flat surfaces, not upward. You’re also depending on a wireless connection to the main Deco M4 base station, which presents its own issues. If all satellite devices were directly linked to the base station via Ethernet, speeds would likely improve. However, mesh networks aren’t typically used for such configurations. Which unit do you consider the primary Deco M4 or one of the satellites? In the latter scenario, you remain tied to the same WiFi constraints.

but a significant drop of nearly 300 mb/s was recorded during the speed test on speedtest.net. we had two people online, and my little sister was also participating in online school. the loss in the cable is almost non-existent, but it seems the connection is being affected by the distance from the main to the satellite in my room.

Conduct the speed test with a direct connection to your router/modem/ISP device, ensuring no other users are using the line. Provide details about all network hardware (brand and model) and their connections. A satellite connection isn't ideal; it depends on a wireless link to the main station or satellites. Perform a WiFi survey using the free WiFi Analyzer app on the MS Store and note the channel results for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
