Getting a weaker connection than others in CS:GO.

When I play CS:GO, my ping stays above 30. I'm using an Ethernet connection and see around 8 pings on speedtest.net. Friends on Wi-Fi get in the teens, while others have sub-ten pings. My max ping is set to 20, but it still feels worse than 50. I understand it's not a big deal, but I'm curious about why.

Could the issue be due to incorrect server selection? It seems like you're not near your usual location.

Your routing isn't great. Ping doesn't reflect the size of your download or upload. My speed is 6k uploads = 5-15 pings to German servers. A friend's 100k uploads = 20-40 pings to the same servers.

What do you mean by routing? I have 80Mbps up and 40 down. Is there a delay from the ethernet cable. It's going up two floors up the side of my house. It's going to really nice router though.
