We are a family of 5 with lots of devices(5 cell phones, 2 PC's, 3 ps4, 2 Chrome cast, 2 rokus.... And a shit tone more). I'm currently using a Linksys ea8500, since there last firmware update, it keeps randomly settings a wifi device to ethernet. I've already went thru customer support without any luck since I'm out of warranty. So basically, what I want to know is if there's a fix for the ea8500 or if I should get a new router. And if the best solution is a new router, which one is the best?
Hello, I’m not sure about the budget, but I recently purchased an Asus RT AX88U and it functions perfectly. It features 8 GB LAN ports and offers fast Wi-Fi too. It also supports the Ax format, which means even older cell phones will work better with my network—my speed jumped about 30%! For a regular AC adapter, it’s even faster, and you can easily add another router to boost coverage. Before I had Netgear, but the firmware updates weren’t great.
