Hi, back in 2013 I assembled a gaming PC and received a Windows 7 OEM copy from a friend. Everything functioned until recently when I attempted to upgrade to Windows 10. The process stalled due to insufficient storage space on my 129 GB SSD. Now I can keep progressing, but my Windows 7 requires activation again. The product key is lost and the flash drive containing it was discarded. What options do I have? I’m open to trying a new installation, though I’m wary. If that fails, purchasing a fresh Windows 10 seems inevitable. Should I reformat my 120 GB SSD if I switch? What version of Windows 10 is best—retail or OEM? And which online storage services would be suitable for backing up my files, especially with a 1 TB HDD available? It’s been a while since I’ve worked on my computer software, so I’m very cautious.
