Get assistance upgrading your Ryzen CPU (Ryzen 5 2600).
Budget (including currency): 35,000 INR
Country: India
Programs/Workloads: Primarily for After Effects, Premiere Pro, Blender, and some casual gaming.
Additional Details: My PC model is a Ryzen 5 2600 with an Asus STrix B350 16GB, 3200MHz VRAM, Vega 3070 Ti, and an SSD of 870GB Samsung 250GB. It runs in a deep cool cabinet with a 27-inch monitor at 165Hz.
My current PC feels snappy compared to my company machine (i9 11th Gen, 16GB RAM, RTX 3060) which runs smoothly while I work.
I would replace the CPU with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D and purchase a new 1TB NVMe drive. The NVMe will restore speed while the CPU upgrade will significantly boost productivity and gaming performance. EDIT: Your currency to EUR was around 390€. CPU cost about 250-260€, 1TB NVMe costs 80€, and the rest would go toward a cooler, likely a deepcool AK620 for 50€.
Or 5800X3D based on cost! Also remember to refresh bios to version 6042 prior to exchanging CPUs @KSP10000
The AG620 matches the exact cooler, just with some visual tweaks taken away. For nearly half the cost compared to the AK620 (non-RGB), the AG620 is available on Amazon at 5699, while the RGB version costs 3660. Both are currently the cheapest options I’ve seen from various sellers.
the power supply will function properly and the new CPU will fit without any problems
Yes, that works well. I suggest upgrading in this sequence: - BIOS to the newest release - CPU to a Ryzen 5700X (not 5700, 5700G, 5700X3D) - RAM to 32GB - Storage with more SSDs, preferably an NVME M.2 for boot drive - Eventually, a CPU cooler if funds allow A 5700X doesn’t require a top-tier cooler and fits the motherboard better than a 5800X or 5700X3D. Also, it’s sufficient for a 3070 Ti and makes a solid upgrade.
The Ryzen 9 5900X could work well depending on your existing hardware. At around 27,000 MHz, it offers strong performance, but you'll need to ensure your motherboard and cooling system support that frequency. If you plan to upgrade to an NVMe SSD within the next 2-3 months, it should be feasible as long as the new drive is compatible with your system.
