Hello, I recently upgraded my PC with the 4070 Super and have encountered some problems, especially while playing Battlefield 2042 with my friends. After a while—about 1 and a half hours or two hours of gameplay—I notice my computer starts stuttering and becomes very difficult to play, freezing for a few seconds. Additionally, my system randomly shuts down, similar to what happened with Black Ops 6 after a zombie match lasting around two hours. Another observation is that my frame rates consistently drop to just 1% during intense moments, even though my average FPS is high. I cleaned the hardware and replaced the thermal paste this weekend, but the Battlefield issue remains. I’m wondering if my current setup needs a CPU upgrade or if there are other adjustments I can make to improve gaming performance. Here are my specifications: CPU – Ryzen 7 5700G; GPU – MSI 4070 Super (12GB); RAM – 8 GB x 2 DDR4 (16GB total); PSU – 650W; OS – Windows 10 Pro. Please let me know if you need more details about my build. Thank you in advance for any advice or suggestions.

You mentioned your case, the graphics card model, whether you replaced drivers for the new 4070 Super, and if your motherboard's BIOS is up to date.

I set up the graphics drivers using DDU and upgraded my motherboard BIOS to the latest firmware. My ASUS PRIME-B550M-K model is around 5 years, and I’m not sure of its exact specs. I’ll share some photos of the case, since it has RAIDMAX on the front.

It varies based on your budget, but there are several options available at no cost. Have you verified the temperatures to ensure your CPU and GPU aren<|pad|>, especially since a system should operate smoothly even under maximum load. The 5700G only accepts PCIe gen 3 connections, which might not align with the 4070's Gen 4 port. Consult your BIOS to see if you can adjust PCIe settings and experiment with different configurations. Confirm all connections are secure, and use tools like CrystalDiskInfo to assess your SSD's condition. This can help prevent shutdowns caused by failing drives. For budget-friendly tweaks, consider replacing your PSU if it's outdated, as a 600W unit can handle the 5700G's 65W CPU. Check thermal paste on your CPU—dry paste may indicate a need for replacement. If you're planning upgrades, moving to a 5700X3D for gaming or a 5800X for work is sensible. For more powerful builds, the 5900X3D or 5950X are viable options, though they may be pricey. Remember to upgrade your cooling solution and PSU together for optimal performance. Good luck!

I've been monitoring the temperatures, and they're stable and within a comfortable range. Your feedback is appreciated, and I'll proceed with testing on your system.
