I'm not referring to altering permissions, but rather adding extra ones that stop folders from being listed or files from being executed by certain users. You don't require an admin account to reach the Program Files directory and operate any program you wish. That's exactly what OP aims to block if I fully grasp it. Areas where users store their personal files are already clear.

OP mentioned this in the first post. They were wondering if a simpler alternative existed. It seems there isn't one, since most multi-user systems store application data per user while keeping applications shared across all users. There are some complex methods to limit access, but it can be quite troublesome: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/8739/res...windows-7/ Perhaps third-party tools could help manage this more easily.

I can handle it in five minutes with just the system. Just grant full permissions for the entire directory and anything inside it. Windows and NTFS work well for this.
