This update is likely already out, but the Ultimate Edition for Gears of War will also be available on Windows. Rod also suggested a potential future surprise, implying that even Gears of War 4 might land on PC. I’m just hoping the ports aren’t terrible. I plan to own both titles—Xbox One and PC—I just want to make sure my PC can handle them at 1080p, not 4K.
You should also consider getting an Xbox 360 for additional play options. This will let you enjoy games like 2 & 3 as well. You might also need a controller; I’m planning to do that. Gears of War isn’t something you’d typically play with a mouse and keyboard, so I’ve already tried it on PC and found it confusing.
Tried the beta version on Xbox One. Felt pretty dull—only played a handful of games. It felt similar to CSGO but in third-person mode.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a re-release of the initial Gears of War game, available on Xbox One and PC. To enjoy Gears of War 2 & 3, you'll need an Xbox 360 version of Gears of War 4, which was launched in 2016 for Xbox One and possibly PC.
