I enjoy gathering items, especially old consoles and handhelds. I often visit thrift shops or flea markets to find affordable games. Sometimes I spot bins full of PC titles and browse, but rarely buy anything since those games from around 2007 are hard to verify for playability. Back then, keys were required for downloads, while pre-2007 titles needed a different setup. If it works, I’d prefer Steam for that reason. I bought Morrowind for a few euros yesterday and managed to install it, but I felt it wasn’t worth it compared to the Steam version, especially since I miss features like achievements and DLCs. I only keep physical copies if the case and manual look good—like with Morrowind. I have a spreadsheet tracking my console games, but my PC collection isn’t documented because I’m unsure what to include. Should I focus only on physical games or also add Steam entries? And how do I handle digital-activated titles? That’s quite a lot of questions. What do you think?

It's true that G2A games tend to be affordable, but they're still different experiences.

I hope to become like LGR and own an extensive MS-DOS archive, plus vintage computers.

I rarely come across such games. The things I usually discover are more interesting, like 2000.

I keep tangible versions of items because the download process limits my ability to collect, so I focus on memorabilia, art, and figurines instead.

I prefer purchasing only tangible copies, but saving around 20€ per game makes digital options more appealing. Unfortunately...

I somewhat concur, yet I really enjoy inspecting containers.

The optical drive seems like a blender, so steam is the best option for me. I suggest adding steam games and physical games.

I don’t favor Steam above physical stores or vice versa; I simply enjoy gathering items. Hunting games in shops and flea markets feels different from browsing G2A or Steam. I still collect consoles and handhelds, so I can meet my collecting cravings. I really rarely purchase physical copies of digital titles—just a few AC editions bought for a few euros each, added to uPlay.
