I checked POP OS with Gnome 3, but it’s definitely running on 20.04 Ubuntu. Gnome can feel slow and take up a lot of memory, so I considered switching to KDE. I wanted to know if keeping Gnome or its system tools would strain my system resources. If yes, I’d like to remove them.

No additional concerns beyond storage capacity.

When you shift your time and make changes, only the system settings are affected; extensions and customizations stay unless you explicitly save them. Deleting the DE will not fix the DE itself.
