It's been interesting to try the UDM Pro at home—it didn’t cause any issues for me. My friend has an LR configuration with two nodes and a gateway. Even though the gateway is outdated, it should handle two new U6 Pro hotspots easily, especially since it’s just for management tasks.

Which gateway are you using? I'm using an Edgerouter-X and a Unifi6 Lite, and since I don't have a controller, I run the Unifi app on a Raspberry Pi, which is working well.

The older UniFi Security Gateway/USG Pro model doesn't support hosting the UniFi network application, which is why a cloud key was introduced. As long as you're using or can upgrade to version 6.1.56 or newer, everything should work. If not, you can get the necessary versions for PC, Mac, or Linux from this site: https://www.ui.com/download/unifi/
