The simplest method involves using a bootable USB with the correct installation media. Ensure you have the right drivers and a clean installation disk ready. If freezing occurs, try updating drivers or using a different USB drive.

What specific requirements are you aiming for with Windows 10? It appears the system must handle at least 3.5GB of RAM, but I need the complete details to ensure compatibility. Please share the full specifications so I can assist properly.

No particular need exists unless your software or hardware requires it for compatibility or performance reasons.

I own a vintage laptop equipped with an Intel Pentium processor and 1GB of RAM. I attempted to start in 64-bit mode, but the system became unresponsive.

Using only 1GB of memory would make things run extremely slowly—perhaps try a 7GB or even an older system like XP?

I don’t have prior knowledge of XP, but it should be manageable if you’re willing to learn.

XP could be a bit outdated for current needs, but it's straightforward to set up. It was one of the first reputable "good Windows" versions. Edit: I'm unsure where to get a license from, which seems like a key issue. Also, finding the drivers can be quite challenging.

Just need a lightweight OS for the laptop—no need for daily use. Appreciate the details!

For just the operating system, I’d choose any Linux distribution over Windows. Even 32-bit and the newest versions of Windows are still not as well optimized as certain Linux ones.
