Hello everyone, I’ve been experiencing some strange issues lately. When playing games, everything seems a bit dirty or shimmery, especially when I move around. I also notice a faint image of myself from the game lingering, particularly on dark or poorly lit surfaces. I initially thought it was my panel (HP25MX), but after recording a short clip and testing on other devices like my phone and laptop, the effect appeared consistently there too. It seems my GPU might be rendering things in that way. I’ve tried using a UFO ghosting test to speed up the monitor response time, which helped a lot—it was almost perfect. The game runs at 60 FPS with VSync enabled. Do you see anything unusual? Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Additional details: I recently swapped my GPU from GTX 970 to RTX 3060 Ti, and both still show the effect. My monitor connects via a DP port to the GPU. Hardware specs: Intel 4790K CPU, 16 GB RAM, game on SSD 3060 Ti. Game date: 2023-01-23.

you've checked more titles, but kingdom come deliverance still has the same problem, though it's less obvious. I haven't seen ghosting or issues in cyberpunk—my old 970 worked fine after a higher setting tweak? Maybe a patch helped. I also tried planetside 2 with the ultra preset, and everything was smooth.

No drivers were installed and the previous ones were removed using ddu.

I managed it now, thanks for the tip—it seems to assist with a few problems I faced with G-Sync. It doesn’t fix the ghosting issue much, but it appears in some games. I’m still curious about why [Stray] 2023-01-24 01-00-51.mp4 works.

If anyone wants to know, the issue is likely TAA and it’s quite severe. There’s a big community sharing solutions for games using it.
