I faced issues with my home network while playing games because of satellite internet. I was browsing on my phone using a 4G connection and managed to turn on mobile hotspot. Was this setup simple enough for others to try?

Be mindful of staying within your data limit, it's unclear how much data gaming consumes.

I've experienced a half-match of competitive CSGO once, and the connection stayed stable even when using Discord in the background.
I forgot how much mobile data I had consumed, though I had a 20GB plan, so I wasn't too concerned.
I recommend being mindful of your data usage based on the game.

I've experienced this before; once the limit is reached, service continues until you stop using the hotspot. After that, you must wait until your next billing cycle ends before you can use it again. I used 80 gbs in a month on a 30gb plan and paid my bill, after which I was able to resume without any charges. Downloading consumes a lot of data, but playing online without downloading works perfectly.

I've used my phone as a hotspot for an MMO and also tested it with a real hotspot. There were no problems. I noticed that unless the game is downloading assets or updates online, it doesn't consume much data—about 50 MB for a three-hour session.
