Yesterday I made a similar post on Reddit about Portal 2, but it was focused on that game. In the comments I detailed what happened, where it occurred, and how to fix it. Now I wanted to test a more challenging title and observed unusual spikes during freezes and stutters. The GPU clock drops to 180 (!!!!) MHz, which is quite odd. https://youtu.be/albYFcp7VQY https://youtu.be/kJejDLVuvSE Here, I performed another benchmark, matching the video’s timeline. One-second pauses were present. My setup: ● ASrock B650M-HDV/M.2 ● AMD 7500F (STOCK) ● GPU 6800 XT Sakura Hitomi Edition ● KF556C40BBK2-32 (HYNIX M-DIE) 32-38-38-50-88 (6200) ● SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus (250 GB - OS), KC3000 (512 GB for games), A400 (SATA for Junk) ● PSU: Cougar GEX 850W ● CASE: GameMax Siege ● FAN: DeepCool AK620 WH Changed video card, SSD, processor, motherboard and RAM, power supply, overall, the entire PC I rebuilt 5-6 times and still games froze. Friends with worse systems generally perform better. I tried everything! - Swapped monitors! - Disconnected and powered off SAM - Updated BIOS - Toggled memory overclocking - Updated SSD firmware. - Unplugged unused SSDs, kept only one Samsung. - Changed power cables - Switched HDMI and DisplayPort cables - Enabled/disabled FreeSync - Adjusted mouse polling rate from 125 to 1000 - Tested various drivers - Installed both Windows 10 and Windows 11 - Chipset driver was installed last, after the video card driver. I’m not sure what to do next.
