They used whatever Telus set up, so it’s pretty basic, but I haven’t tested any better routers.

Your Ethernet connection should handle the distance well, so there’s likely no problem there. It seems the router might be faulty or the ISP could be causing issues. Regarding WiFi, I’ve mainly used it for gaming and it usually works fine. Try a good PCIe AC card at 5GHz if possible, or check power line or MOCA adapters. You should find a solution that fits your needs.

I don’t use WiFi anymore. When I did, I connected via a TP link N900 card. I originally had a N750 router at that time. I’d probably check out some Gigabyte models that support M.2 cards but fit into a PCIe slot. It would be simpler to upgrade the M.2 section when new WiFi cards are released.
