Gaming apps and Open Broadcaster Software keep crashing.
I built this computer about 3 months ago. I had crashes in two different games (one game even runs on a potato PC), but OBS also crashed when I wasn't streaming. Before, I got similar crashes with the same games within the last 2 months while just gaming and running OBS without streaming. I didn't know what was going wrong.
I checked my CPU and GPU temps while playing using Speccy and Core Temp programs, and they looked fine. I also ran Prime95 to stress test the CPU and Furmark 2 to stress test the GPU for 2 hours. Memtest64 ran for 2 hours too and found no errors or bad results in any of those three tests.
Here is my PC setup:
- CPU: i5-12600KF
- GPU: RTX 4070 Super
- RAM: 32GB (4 sticks of 8GB each)
- OS: Windows 11
My BIOS settings show the RAM running at 2800MHz. I thought my RAM might not handle that speed well (see picture). Now, in the BIOS, I changed the setting to "Auto". I haven't tested the games yet to see if this fixed it. What do you guys think about the RAM? Also, is my Mobo (PRIME B660-PLUS D4) compatible with the RAM I have?
I'm out of ideas here. Hoping for some help. Friendly greetings from E.
PC SPECS: CPU is an i5 12600KF, GPU is RTX 4070 Super, RAM is 32GB (4 sticks of 8GB), the OS is Windows 11. I have updated both the graphics driver and the BIOS settings. When asking for help here, it's best to list all your computer parts like this: CPU, cooler, motherboard, ram, hard drive or SSD, GPU, power supply unit, case, operating system (like Windows), monitor. Please also tell me when you got these parts and how old they are, not just the brand and model name. I had a few crashes in two different games where one of them is okay on a very old PC, but OBS kept crashing too while I was trying to stream. Those same games also crashed before for about two months now. You need to tell me which game titles you mean. What version of the graphics driver are you using right now?
