I found Anna interesting, though it might not appeal to all tastes. Many people like Outlast and FNAF too, even if I can't quite grasp the reason.

Outlast means you can enjoy it without shouting like a girl (my friend can't). Amnesia works just fine as well...
I've only experienced the original version, and I think it's fine. I didn't feel very nervous, but the mood is really nice.
